Dear Families, Thank you for your support at OPEN HOUSE. The marking period is just about over and time for grades. If your child receives an EP or Mp , they have done very well and have met my expectations thus far. Any Np or Bp need additional work to bring them up to meeting status. ANy question please email or call me. Thanks Ms. C
Dear Parents and Guardians, Welcome back to a new school year starting August 20th, 2008. We have the following exciting information: a new room 8 for me, a new principal, Mr. Rees, a new curriculum for reading and new six marking periods instead of having interims. So, gets lots of rest and eat a healthy breakfast and I will see you in a week. Ms. Campbell
I hope you enjoyed the Memorial day weekend and remembered those that have actively participated for our country. This week we will have a few assignments to complete and a few activities they will participate in , IF they are making GOOD CHOICES.. The first activity will be friday with Fitness day- a note will come home for more information. The students are already familiar with the actvities from Gym class and need to have things like sneakers, hats…… Please review stuff in their bookbags .
Parents, this week we have been doing a lot of testing and I do appreciate the fact all of my students have been in school. We will continue some testing the next week also for the final report cards that will be mailed home. The last assembly will be changed to June 2nd due to other events. I will forward any other information as it becomes available. Thanks Ms. Campbell
Good Afternoon, Just wanted to let you know that you should be receiving some sheets on what to do if no homework packets were given and what they can do for summer reading in the event they are bored. Please enjoy your weekend and thank you for your support all through the year. What a wonderful class we have this year. Ms. Campbell
Whew! Time is flying by. The beginning of May and less than 30 days to go. The students will receive their last homework packet this week (5/5). In place of homework packets, they need to daily read for 30 minutes and do some type of writing as I have mentioned in some interims as they go home this week coming. We will be testing their reading and writing skills for the district and doing an end of the year Math assessment for their porfolios. Last day is JUNE4th. Please make sure your child brings their bookbags everyday for paperwork to go home. Have a good day
We are now towards the end of April, Interims will be coming home in two weeks. Your child will have an animal report to do . Please review and help your child to locate information and non-fiction books may need some reading help to discern this information into their report. This week will be a FULL week of school. We just keep plugging along. Thank you to those that turned in the orange paper concerning their interims and grades for the end of the year. I am very pleased with the continued academic growth of the class and strive for everyone to go to second grade.
We had a fire safety drill and most of the students knew what to do. Please try to talk with your children about having a plan incase the place you live is in danger, whether it is a fire or some other incident that would put your family is danger. The safety of your family is more important than any other thing. I hope you enjoyed this week’s weather. It will be somewhat cooler next week. Reminder this is a four day week and on the 18th there will NOT be any school.
April 7th-Well, it was a hard week to get through after a nice Spring Break, which I hope you enjoyed. We had lots of work to accomplish last week . We now have 40 days until the end of the year. We have started a new Science kit called organisms and ate some dirt cups for our last project on seeds. Remember to keep working hard . Most of you should be pleased with their report cards. They need all M’s to be promoted to second grade.
